The cost of 4 tables and 3 chairs is Rs. 2400.

Find the cost of each table and each chair.

A. 400,300
B. 300,400
C. 500,250
D. None of the above
See Answer & Explanation Lets Discuss
Correct answer is : B
Explanation

Let the cost of each table be x,

the cost of each chair be y.

3x + 4y= 2500  --- (1)

4x+3y=2400     --- (2)

Multiplying (1) by 4 and (2) by 3,

12x + 16y=10000  ---(3)

12x + 9y  = 7200   ---(4)

-----------------------

Subtracting (4) from (3), we get,

7y=2800

y=400.

x= (2500 - 4y )/3

  = (2500 -1600 )/3

  = 900/3

  =300.
