Order numbers on a stock control system can range between 10000 and 99999 inclusive. Which of the following inputs might be a result of designing tests for only valid equivalence classes and valid boundaries:

1000, 5000, 99999

9999, 50000, 100000

10000, 50000, 99999

10000, 99999

9999, 10000, 50000, 99999, 10000

I think answer should be E

Why it is option c..?? It should be b because boundary value analysis says (boundary-1,boundary,(boundary+1). So,according to me,it should be Option b i.e 9999,50000,100000

50000??? plz explain

hey guys, read the question correctly its mentioned about valid equivalence and boudries value only ,so option "c" will be correct because this is the option only which includes all valid value.

good question!!

Hi guys!

Why the option 'b' is incorrect?

Swapnil 10/7/2013 4:53:48 PM

i think the answer should be E because its covered both EP and BVA.

Pradnya 11/12/2013 10:13:57 AM

I believe option E should be correct... Because according to question it covers both equivalence partitioning and boundary value analysis..

Surbhi 11/14/2013 12:34:11 PM

only valid boundaries are option C is correct.

Note: This Question says range between 10000 and 99999 inclusive .

Valid Equivalence classes : it means value or expected inputs for this particular field. For this problem, invalid equivalence class might contain '1,00,000'(Invalid class 1) and '9999' (Invalid class 2) which is not desired in the question.

Similarly, for the boundary value. And with two definitions of valid equivalence and valid boundaries, you can either go for elimination options or look into both. So Option C is right.

Adarsh 12/18/2013 4:52:24 PM

Option C is Correct

Ankur 12/27/2013 6:37:28 PM

C is correct

swarnendu 9/15/2014 12:45:38 PM

Option D is correct .as valid bounty values also a part of valid equivalence class. so 50000 is redundent

Nithiyanandh 9/20/2014 2:57:29 PM

Option C is Correct because in that Question itself Clearly mention that " tests for only valid equivalence classes and valid boundaries" means we have to check only valid values between 10000 and 99999.

Ankitt 10/12/2014 9:54:42 AM

In Question only valid boundaries are asked so option c is correct if they have asked about Boundary value the option E is correct
